Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up an appointment?

Contact me to send me a private email or call me directly at 303-517-2776. We'll start with a 10-15 minute complimentary phone call to see if we're a good fit (based on your goals and our styles) and then I will refer you to my website to sign consent and privacy documents.

What happens at the first session?

No surprises here! I usually like to answer any questions you may have about me or the process and then get to know you a little - where you come from, what brings you to therapy now, what kinds of things you'd like to discuss or accomplish during our work together.

What do you charge for therapy?

$175 per hour for individuals, $195 per 75 minutes for couples, and $300 for a 2-hour family session. Other arrangements are possible, such as half or full day intensives.

Do you take my insurance?

No, but I will provide you with a “Superbill” to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Sliding scale rates can be considered on a case by case basis.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

I ask for 24 hour notice if you need to change or cancel.

Will my sessions be confidential?

Absolutely. I don't share your information with anyone without a signed consent by you.

Does online therapy really work?

Yes. Many people prefer being in their familiar surroundings, and like saving travel time and hassles. In-person office sessions are also still an option.

How long does therapy take?

This depends. It's up to the client, basically, but I will always give my honest opinion of how I think it's going. I never want people to stay in therapy against their will, of course, or to linger once they are feeling better just out of habit. You have other things to spend your money on and I want you to be in a position to enjoy them!
