Back to Basics . . . Why See A Therapist?
Psychotherapy can seem like a complex field, but it doesn’t have to be. This definition is from Psychology Today, and it describes my philosophy very well:
“The therapist is there to help the client grow emotionally toward deeper peace and fulfillment — with self, relationships, work,, passions, etc. The therapy provides a space of emotional safety in which the client is able to take those risks. The client is able to do this because they trust that the therapist gets them and cares about them. A supportive therapeutic relationship is thus a vital prerequisite — a nurturing vessel in which growth can flourish.”
